“The medium allows me to bring into existence sculptures of found objects. Or: once found, formed and composed, and lit and taken as photographs do these forms materialize as transmogrifications of itself.”
- Note To Self, 12/29/25
Around the time of the creation of this body of work in 2023, I had begun to wonder more about my work, its meaning, and my process.
It is important for me that my work be perceived to go beyond what would normally be seen as "a picture”. In fact, I’ve often been told that my works look like drawings, to which I would usually reply that they would be things I would draw, if I could. While the medium is undoubtedly photographic, be it visible light, or x-ray, or motion picture, the photographic process and the choice of subject matter must induce a sense of the surreal, until all that is left is the emotional or cerebral connection between the piece and the audience; until the abstract becomes insight.

“Octothorpes” is a continuing series documenting evolving conversations, thoughts, and emotions lurking within universal geometries.
A dance of order and chaos, how the random creates meaning.
