Sometime in 2025, I was invited to participate in a group show curated by fellow FOTOMOTO Co-Founder Neal Oshima entitled “Kind of Blue”. 

 

My response was a series of images called “Monuments”. It is sober and melancholic: cold and stoic forms of jagged lines and harsh shadows. It is a remembrance of past lives and present sorrows.

 

“Umbra” is Latin for shadow, in memory of a dear friend who met his death on a cold, faraway mountain in October of that year.
