Chapter Three: Shelter Fund

(While this is strictly not art, but rather an art “initiative”, I will write about it as it plays an important role in my journey.)

In 2020, the world was hit with the COVID-19 Pandemic. Shelter Fund, an art initiative led by Silver Print, was born out of the need to contribute, to be productive, and to remain sane. Working with local photographers and artists, Shelter Fund curated, promoted, produced and sold over 2000 fine art prints, with the proceeds helping support the community during the time.

Later on, Shelter Fund, with its communal fund and “zero risk for the artist” policies,  would become a model for equitable and sustainable artist-led fundraising initiatives.

I deem it to be one of the most meaningful things I have ever been part of.
